Introduction

The Jack Nicklaus Coaching Studio at Finca Cortesin Golf Club is designed by Nicklaus Academies to provide the Students a new learning experience. As Instructors we understand completely what it takes to become a reasonably good player and we truly believe that we can help you to achieve your best potential. As instructors we know that Golf is not only a game where you hit a ball from the tee to a green in less shots as possible; it is a game where scoring determines how good a player you are. We are true believers that golf requires a good short game, a decent golf swing, but the most important thing you need to know is learning how to play a golf course. We have that knowledge and we are prepared to improve your scoring to limits you have not been before.

They say the game of golf is like life,
but don't believe them.
Golf is much more complicated.

Our Instruction

First, we concentrate on training the small movements of the hands, wrists and arms, movements required to control the club face. We then progress to engage the larger muscles in the legs and torso to add distance for shot-making and improved control.  When we do, you will strike the ball more solidly and have a wider range of shots.  Lastly, we believe in properly learning the fundamentals of golf and we know that to play well, these must be mastered.

Our key fundamentals

We place great importance on learning how to feel the club head, and how to take advantage of its basic state of inertia. In doing so, this provides the student with an effortless and effective swing.

The club and the club face itself is at the heart of your lesson program. You will learn how your body works in tandem with the movement of the club, and acts in response to the weight of the club head and where this connective system is directing you.

Philosophy

The Nicklaus Academies philosophy is based on how the clubface interacts with the ball flight. We all know that Tour Players have different swings but even so, they can control the ball flight. How? Very simple: There are no secrets in golf apart from: do you have the ability to square the clubface at impact in a proper path and speed or not?. We can help you to achieve this ability, and we know that the main basics: grip, stance and alignment are crucial to achieve that purpose. When the clubface is applied properly to the ball, it will dictate how the ball starts down the target line and dictate the flight of the ball. The ball does not lie. This is the basis of the Nicklaus philosophy.

Evaluation

At Nicklaus Academies we understand that the only way you can progress in your game is by being evaluated in the following aspects of the game:

•    Technique: Interaction of the clubhead with the ball, Long Game, Short Game and Putting
•    Physical: Evaluation of the physical limitations, flexibility, balance.
•    Mental: Concentration, visualisation, attitude.
•    Equipment: Taylor Made Fitting
•    Tactic: Strategy on the Course, club selection, shot selection, routine.
•    The way you learn: Visual, Kinestetic,  Auditive

Each and every component will help us to find the best ways to provide the student the best possible instruction and create the platform for improvement.
